Beer at the Pigs

The policy of The Two Pigs is not to offer the same tired old choices of beer, consequently the choice of beer changes as barrels empty. The choice of beers are displayed on the blackboard behind the bar together with the ABV and price.
Traditionally, there will be a low strength beer (ABV 4.0), 2 medium strength beers (ABV 4.2 - 4.6) and a strong one (ABV 5+).
There is one draught lager; Budwar (The Czech forerunner of Budweiser). The Two Pigs is one of the few places where you can get both versions of Bud in the same place - very rare. A large selection of bottled and canned lagers are available, chilled, for those who arrive at the Pigs by mistake.
The draught stout is Murphy's.

There is a wide selection of fruit wines which are very popular with ladies.

Beers offered for sale on a regular basis

Swill

Swill (aka Pigswill) is the staple bitter of The Two Pigs and has been a favourite since early in 1989. It has a moderate abv (alcohol by volume) of 4.0 and is invariably the cheapest beer on sale. Originally brewed to the Pigs' specifications it has now become Stonehenge Brewery's biggest selling beer. Darker in colour than you'd expect from a sharp bitter brew it is a refreshing easy drink.

Summer Lightning

Summer Lightning is a sharp, light, clear, clean beer with an ABV of 5.0 it meets the needs of the nucleus of hard core drinkers. For more info check out the HopBack Brewery site.

Tangle Foot

Tangle Foot is a strong, ABV 5.0, brew from the Badger Brewery. This beer holds the distinction of being the best barrel ever served in the pub. It was September 1993 and it defined what good real beer is all about.

London Pride

London Pride from Fullers in London is an ever popular pint with a satisfying taste and an easy drinking ABV of 4.2. For more info check out the Fullers' Brewery site.

Sign of Spring

Sign of Spring (SoS) is another beer from The Stonehenge Brewery. This one is produced in accordance with some obscure Danish custom that involves welcoming the coming of Spring with the colour green. This 4.2 ABV beer comes in green pints (don't let the colour put you off).

Brains SA

Skull Attack is a Welsh import from the SA Brain Brewery. This beer had a bad rap in the late 70's but now is a clean easy drink. For more info check out the SA Brain Brewery site.
